O1010101 -Logic/non logic gender of nOise- O1010101 meets KAOS GLAM SYNTH BY PIN
The workshop is focused on experimental music and performance emphasizing the way we produce and generate our technologies in a similar sense to also generate our freedom of gender and play the roles that we want to (re-appropriate) and perform. We are interested in a collective creation of DIY artefacts that produce noise as a tool of re-signification of our relationship with technology. We aim to create a recreational space, by creating hybrid bodies through recycling technics as a symbolic process of transformation through the re-appropriation of everyday objects and electronics.
I will show some pieces we have been build into past workshops to explore two main topics:
1- Occupy no conforming decisions or positions as transhackfeminist we have been always exploring other ways to interact with technologies. At this introduction block we will explore the term of exo-sculpture. Through the term exo-sculpture we are referring to recycled sensors and circuits attached to our body implemented with other urban elements; they are not only aesthetic outfits, they fulfill functions and flavour practices. Through them we expand like liquid organic architectures sounding out of homemade bended recycled circuits. Bending means introduce oneself to the machine and intervene or penetrate with wet fingers at its guts, by becoming resistance, in that sense the circuit Is going to be build uses the body as a resistor/ conductance element.
Noise As multiplicity according to M. Serres If we cut out noise (understanding it as queerness), we risk cutting out possibility. Noise is misunderstood for the same reasons as drag: it shows through the appropriation of nonmusical elements that tone and rhythm are, like gender, simply social constructions. According to this, we take Noise as a central element to provoke opening in a symbolic performative way. We study the articulations between art & science and art & technology, and their function in the production of subjectivities. Open code Is a community creation and a response to proprietary corporations and patents. We always appropriate technology under a critical view thinking ,considering that the understanding and use of low technologies is important in terms of knowledge and constitutes us more autonomous in our every day activities, inviting in a more active attitude towards open source and free culture.
2 _ Sharing, co.creating and exploring horizontal ways to learn together from the basics; During the workshop you will hear a lots of terms that you might be or might not be familiar with. In any case it helps to clear out the terms, so we made a short glossary of terms and we study the functions of each element makes on the circuit as well how the circuit it works. You will learn how to read schematics and how to identify the components in order to have more autonomy when you are back at home. Once the Kaos Glam is build we can explore the different ways we can play with it whenever you want to wear the device or simply to open other non human subjectivity to play with you at the final performance.
Facilitator bio :
Pin is a Transhackfeminist performer and researcher which has a strong inclination towards research and experimentation processes with collective and free technologies. The experimental process of incorporating noise into the body leads to experiment with synthesizersoften including DIY DIWO Trans-tech body in performance. In 2011 carries out the process Photosinthetika, gender- tech-nature hybrid extension agencies to reappropriate knowledge of bio-political tactics and generate technological autonomy. Currently he dwells the transhackfeminist laboratory Petchblenda; The Lab experiments in bio- electro-chemical aspects with a Biopunk Biosophy, prolific research and bio-political practices. My active participation in the lab Pechblenda and Transnoise, besides my social ideals and my workas a noise performance and workshopologist, has taken me to many spaces and contexts, specially to the point of starting to collaborate in 2012 with Hackteria, a Biohacking network. Open up again the opportunity to give up workshops as a facilitator all around the world always putting the focuson spread the knowledge and share experience over a transfeminism horizontal perspective. The last year, after bio and transhackfeminist values I have been designing and fabricating the devices for a Mobile Lab developing a line of hardware (HardGlam) for Biotranslab project that is used for autonomous gynecology practices and investigation. As my knowledge in electronics is based on open source and DIY, the devices included in the laboratory are portable replications of a microscope, a speculum done with a 3D printer, an incubator, PCR, centrifuge ... Plants, microorganisms and other sources of alternative energy, resulting in a complex web of interactions that fuses transversely machines and plant and animal organisms with the cosmos, and reveals a transhackfeminist queer ecology.
