Apparently, this circuit has been around the SGMK for quite a while, but its history is uncertain – maybe you can clarify? Uwe Schüler invented it in the early 2000s (clarified during CircuitControl Dresden 2026). one mux acts as oscillator, a second as inverter to double the voltage swing on the piezo. the third lies idle.

The 4053 IC is a "CMOS Triple 2-Channel Analog Multiplexer/Demultiplexer with Logic-Level Conversion".
