One issue that came up a few times was about space and tensions arising from that. Some felt they were not receiving their fair share of communal space and some felt others were not willing to share the space they had taken. Maybe setting some guidelines and awareness about this for future Homemades could help with avoiding these kinds of tensions. Space can be something quite concrete (working space, space to plug into the mixer, etc...), but can also refer to something more abstract (having one's voice heard, etc..). It's important to remember from an organisational level that diverse voices must get equitable space and time for developing and showcasing their projects. | |||
For future editions we could also think about how to ensure a safe space for the young people. There were maybe some teasing and pranks going on which were maybe not so funny for everyone involved, as far as I understand. | |||
