On Saturday 6th December it is time again for the legendary SGMK Xmas Umtrunk. Get your blinkeshit and raclette ovens ready for an evening of workshops, tasty food and drink, presentations and of course some gourmet live music and dancing.

MechArtLab / Bitwäscherei, Zürich, 6 & 7. December 2025

Build your own DIY robotic painting kit and learn the art of machine painting. Over two days, participants will learn how assemble and program a small painting robot. Explore image-processing and machine-control techniques for robotic painting.

Structure

Day 1 Build & Code: assemble and run the physical system, learn the basics of image and G-code processing.

Day 2 Play & Paint: learn about different machine painting techniques, experiment and make your own paintings.

Mentors

Mentors: Dominik Mahnič, artists and engineers from SGMK (Swiss Mechatronic Art Society), MAG (Machine Arts Group) and LightBurn.

Suggestion for times on 6th:

• Morning-shopping crew goes shopping (some stuff the night before, hunt for some 50% stuff in Coop)
• Early afternoon - cooking preparation and tech setup for presentations and sound for performances. Room set up. Decorations and extra blinky shit. Anyone have any funny things to bring?
• Afternoon - early workshop/s - Brushology workshop
• 5pm-official event opening. Getting a Drink and settling in.
• 6pm - welcome hello... Call to sign up for foobar.
• Eating already?
