Borut Savski's Basic rule is: the smallest amount of elements... and with this philosophy he developed the [http://www.3via.org/records/index.php?opt=item&id=69 Cirkulino] shield, an 8-step MIDI-sequencer (3-channels) interface controlled via [http://www.arduino.cc Arduino]. During the workshop we will solder the circuit and learn about MIDI interfaces, use of an arduino as MIDI controller and connect it to various software based synthesizers or analog MIDI synth-modules.
